THE SPICE HOUSE MIRISSA

Set among tropical gardens with flowers, ponds and hammocks, Spice House is a colonial-style hotel a 2-minute walk from Mirissa Beach. It features a large veranda overlooking the jungle where breakfast is served.

En-suite rooms open out onto a private balcony overlooking the spice garden or the Indian Ocean. They are fitted with 4-poster beds and traditional wood-carved furnishings. Amenities include cable TV channels.

Whale and dolphin-watching boat trips leave from the Fisheries Harbour just 5 minutes' drive away. It is a 15-minute drive from Dondra Lighthouse, the island's highest and Southernmost point. Galle Fort is a 45-minute drive from the hotel.

Guests can surf the internet for free and rent canoeing and snorkelling equipment at the The Spice House Mirissa. The family who runs the guest-house will help plan visits and cater home-cooked meals.
Please note that the 'Junior Suite with Balcony - Annex', the 'Queen Room with Pool View - Annex', are accessed through the jungle, and the 'Suite with Garden View'  is situated at the bottom of a slope; they are not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
