Embedded in the impressive mountain landscape of East Tyrol, the car-free Gradonna **** Superior Mountain Resort makes every athlete's heart beat faster. The alpine lifestyle resort in wood construction is nestled above the village of Kals on the slope in close proximity to the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain. Kals is a meeting point for all those who want to enjoy nature in its originality. Rural customs and village culture are very important here.
Facilities
The sustainably built, car-free resort with its own water source and energy supply is perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings. Outside and inside there is no contradiction here, because natural materials and colors characterize the space down to the last detail.
The Gradonna restaurant for your gourmet board with a panoramic view spoils you with modern, light cuisine at toque level. East Tyrolean paired with a Mediterranean influence - here old recipes are interpreted in a new and tasty way! In the spacious bar with a partially covered terrace, you can end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere. You will find the right drop in the wine cellar with Austrian as well as international wines. The hotel also has the "Osttiroler Feinkostladen" with regional and home-made delicacies, souvenirs, newspapers and hygiene items. There is also a sports shop with equipment rental and a small hotel library in the house. Elevator and free underground parking space (1 space per room) and e-filling station for electric cars are available. You can use Wi-Fi in the whole hotel for free.

Rooms
The 121 residential units furnished in stone pine are integrated into the landscape in such a way that fascinating views arise from every room and terrace. Exclusively equipped with bathtub or shower, toilet, hairdryer, rental bathrobe and felt slippers, radio, telephone, satellite TV, safe and WiFi, they meet all requirements. In addition, each room has its own relaxation zone with mountain or valley views and a balcony.
DC (2-2): Classic double room, approx. 30m².
JS (2-4): Junior Suite, from 39m² with infrared cabin.
SS (2-4): Tower suite, from 55m², separate sleeping and living areas, bathtub, private spa with infrared cabin and furnished terrace.
DX (1-1): Classic double room for single use.

Winter fun
The Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei is the largest ski area in East Tyrol and is known for its varied family slopes. There are 16 state-of-the-art cable cars and lifts as well as 43.6 wonderful kilometers of slopes ready for your snow experience.
At the Gradonna **** Superior Mountain Resort, the day of skiing begins and ends in front of the hotel entrance. According to the motto “Ski in, Ski out”, the resort is located directly on the valley run. The direct connection to the Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei ski area, its own ski school and ski pass service, ski rental and a free ski area for beginners in the resort provide the exclusive setting for carefree fun in the snow.
25km of perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails for beginners and advanced skiers - awarded the Tyrolean trail seal of approval - traverse the dreamy mountain landscape in and around Kals. Access to the cross-country ski trail and a toboggan run can be found in close proximity to the resort.
Away from the pistes and cross-country trails, those looking for relaxation can enjoy wonderful holidays in the healthy mountain air. Be it on a guided snowshoe hike with wildlife observation, on a guided ski tour into the world of three thousand meter peaks or a winter hike in untouched nature. And in the evening: full moon and evening hikes, illuminated toboggan run, or simply having time to find yourself again.

Gradonna Mountain Spa on over 3,000 m² with indoor and heated outdoor pool with whirlpool zone, extensive sauna landscape with Finnish saunas, aroma steam baths, infrared cabins, brine steam bath, sauna pool, room of silence, spacious relaxation areas with water beds and a modern panoramic fitness room as well as a separate family area with Indoor swimming pool, small slide and textile family sauna.

Children
Gradonna Natur-Kinderclub 6 times a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from 3 years of age, teen program for kids from 12 years of age with sports and activity programs, playroom, own children's restaurant with children's buffet.
