Holiday at Pirin Golf & Country Club in Bansko (Bulgaria)

Pirin Golf & Country Club is a large all-season mountain resort near Bansko, especially well suited for family holidays, golf & spa trips, peaceful mountain getaways and combined ski vacations in winter. The resort stands out for its beautiful mountain panoramas, spacious grounds and sense of privacy.

It is important to note that this is not just a single hotel building, but a full resort complex with a 5-star boutique hotel, an apartment complex and chalets. The resort is located in the Razlog Valley at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, just a short drive from the ski resort of Bansko.

The main strengths of the resort are its large enclosed territory of around 150 hectares, golf courses, diverse gastronomy, a 5,500 m² Wellness Center, 7 swimming pools, sports facilities, children’s infrastructure and a very comfortable balance between active leisure and relaxation.

In terms of board options, the resort offers BB, HB and All Inclusive, while the Dine Around program allows guests to enjoy dinner in several restaurants across the complex. This is a great choice for travellers who want to stay surrounded by nature while still having restaurants, bars, SPA, sports and children’s entertainment close at hand.

Useful information about the hotel

What accommodation options are available at Pirin Golf & Country Club?

The resort brings together the Pirin Golf Hotel & SPA 5*, an apartment complex and chalets. If we focus on the main hotel building, the following room and suite categories are available.

Standard — about 35 m², for up to 2 adults and 1 child on an extra bed; these rooms are located on the ground floor and have direct access to the outdoor pool area or Downtown. Superior — about 35 m², for up to 2 adults and 1 child; located on floors 1–4, with a private balcony and panoramic views of the surrounding nature.

Family — about 70 m², for up to 2 adults and 3 children; this category consists of two connected Superior rooms with a balcony and views of the Pirin Mountains, the golf course, the outdoor pool or Downtown. Junior Suite — about 45 m², for up to 2 adults and 2 children; located on the 3rd–4th floors, with balcony and views of Pirin, the golf course, the pool or Downtown.

Superior Suite — about 71 m², for up to 2 adults and 2 children; features a separate bedroom, living room and balcony, with views of Pirin, the golf course, the pool or Downtown. Deluxe Suite — about 140 m², for up to 4 adults and 2 children; includes two bedrooms, a living room with dining area, four balconies and the most spacious views over the mountains, golf course, pool and the central part of the resort.

In the apartment complex, guests can also choose studios from 35 m², SPA studios from 40 m², as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, which are especially convenient for families and longer stays.

How is dining organized?

The resort offers BB, HB and All Inclusive meal plans. HB usually includes breakfast and dinner, while All Inclusive covers breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Depending on the season and special offer, All Inclusive may include Bulgarian alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and in some packages even premium branded beverages.

An additional advantage is the Dine Around program: guests on HB and All Inclusive can enjoy set-menu dinners in several restaurants around the resort at no extra charge or choose à la carte dining with a fixed amount deducted from the bill. This is ideal for guests who enjoy variety and do not want to dine in the same place every day.

Euro Kitchen serves buffet breakfast and dinner as well as European cuisine; published opening hours are approximately 07:00–00:00. Club House is open from morning until late evening and is suitable for breakfast, lunch, cocktails or dinner. Taste of Asia offers Asian cuisine, La Foret specializes in Alpine-inspired dishes and game, Casa di Pasta focuses on Italian cuisine, and Octopus serves Greek dishes and seafood.

For coffee, pastries and a light breakfast, Karamel is a great option, combining a patisserie and mini market. The drinks selection is broad: hot drinks and coffee are available in morning outlets and the lobby, bars serve cocktails, wine and spirits, and by the pool guests can enjoy juices, sandwiches and refreshing beverages.

Does the hotel have a beach?

The resort does not have a traditional sea beach, as it is a mountain resort. There is no sandy or pebbled coastline here.

However, in the summer months the Lake area features the so-called Mountain Beach — a lakeside relaxation zone with green grass instead of sand and natural shade from pine trees rather than a classic seaside beach setup. Guests can also relax by the outdoor pools and their surrounding sunbathing areas.

The resort has 1 indoor and 6 outdoor pools, of which 3 operate all year round. The year-round outdoor pools are connected to the SPA area, and the water temperature is maintained at about 35°C in summer and 38°C in winter. Poolside relaxation areas are available, and the Pool Bar serves juices, cocktails and light snacks.

What amenities are available in the rooms and apartments?

Rooms in the main hotel usually include flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, telephone, minibar, coffee machine, electric kettle, seating area, safe, central air conditioning, satellite TV, daily housekeeping and complimentary mineral water. In the Superior category and above, guests also have a balcony/terrace, while Standard rooms feature direct access to the outdoor pool or Downtown.

Bathrooms in the hotel rooms are spacious and typically include a toilet, bidet, shower area, hydromassage bathtub, hairdryer, wide washbasin and dedicated space for bathrobes and towels, while in many categories there is also a TV in the bathroom.

In the apartments, guests additionally have a kitchen, as well as an iron, electric kettle, living area and balcony. This format is especially practical for families with children and for guests planning a longer stay.

Which restaurants and bars are available on site?

Euro Kitchen serves buffet breakfast and dinner, European cuisine, and features fireplaces and a terrace. Taste of Asia offers dishes from Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and China. La Foret is one of the most atmospheric restaurants in the resort, focusing on game dishes and Alpine gastronomy. Club House is the golf club restaurant with a 360° terrace and views over the course.

Casa di Pasta in the Downtown area specializes in Italian cuisine and dry-aged selections. Octopus offers Greek dishes and seafood. Half-Way House is located right by the course and serves Balkan and local cuisine, as well as BBQ on request. Karamel combines a supermarket and patisserie with pastries, coffee and everyday essentials.

Among the bars, it is worth highlighting the Lobby Bar with a fireplace and a wide drinks selection, Bar 19th Hole near the Proshop for drinks and snacks before a round of golf, the Pool Bar by the pools, Piano Bar Melody with an evening atmosphere and live music, and Let’s Bar with a solid selection of gin, vodka, brandy, cognac, tequila and whisky. For casual dining and a pub-style atmosphere, Queen’s Pub is a good choice.

Published opening hours include: Euro Kitchen — approximately 07:00–00:00, Lobby Bar — 07:00–00:00, Club House — 07:30–00:00, La Foret — 12:00–00:00, Casa di Pasta — 12:00–23:00 daily, Octopus — 12:00–23:00 daily, Queen’s Pub — 11:00–23:00, Pool Bar — 09:00–19:30, Piano Bar Melody — open until late at night at the end of the week, Let’s Bar — 12:00–04:00. Opening hours of individual venues may vary by season.

What entertainment and sports facilities does the resort offer?

The main sporting pride of the resort is golf. On site there is the 18-hole Ian Woosnam course, the 5-hole Pirin Pine course, a driving range and a golf academy with lessons for individual and group guests of all levels. The academy’s practice area can accommodate large training sessions.

Sports Center facilities include a 250 m² fitness gym with Technogym equipment, squash, table tennis, as well as yoga, pilates and therapeutic swimming. After training, guests can move straight into the thermal area or stop by the Vitamin Bar.

In winter, the resort focuses strongly on the ski & spa concept: there is an on-site Ski & Snowboard Center, rental and sale of equipment, lessons with instructors and an hourly shuttle to the Bansko gondola. Evening entertainment includes snooker, live music at Piano Bar Melody, bars, an art gallery and a cinema within the hotel area.

What is available for children?

Pirin Golf & Country Club is very suitable for family holidays with children. On site there is a kids’ corner, 8 outdoor playgrounds, 2 mini football fields and a safe environment for cycling.

There is also the Workshop Cinderella children’s area with animation, a “soap factory” and a fountain fishing activity. During selected holiday and seasonal periods, the resort also organizes children’s entertainment programs.

Golf is also available for younger guests: the academy offers special junior programs, and lessons are available for children from around 6 years old. In many active offers, children up to 6.99 years old stay free of charge.

What is available on the territory and which facilities can guests use?

The resort occupies a spacious enclosed territory and offers very rich infrastructure: a 5,500 m² Wellness Center, 1 indoor and 6 outdoor pools, shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, a sports center, a golf academy, children’s areas, walking zones and different residential areas within the complex.

In the thermal area, guests can use a mountain sauna, infrared sauna, Kneipp bench, hot stone, ice fountain, heated bench, laconium, aromatic steam bath, experience showers and a relaxation zone. There are also massage rooms and SPA treatment rooms, as well as a boutique with SPA products.

The complex is gated, and managed properties are described as offering 24/7 security, video surveillance and free parking. Guests also have access to transfers, including transport towards the Bansko lift, as well as convenient long-stay facilities in the apartments and chalets.

What interesting places are nearby within a 5 km radius?

If we look at the resort territory itself and the immediate surroundings, several interesting spots are located within a short walk or very short drive. First of all, there is the 18-hole Ian Woosnam Golf Course, the 5-hole Pirin Pine Course, the driving range and the Golf Academy — the main attraction for golf lovers.

Club House with its panoramic 360° terrace is one of the most pleasant places to relax with views of the course and the mountains. Within the resort, the Downtown area with restaurants, bars, shops, Art Gallery Genesis and the snooker zone is also worth noting, while the Lake area offers lakes, an amphitheatre, a fountain and the summer Mountain Beach.

For quiet relaxation, guests can choose the Wellness Center and the heated outdoor pools among the pines, while for active leisure the Sports Center and sports grounds are ideal. The center of Bansko and the gondola lift are beyond this radius, but the resort organizes shuttle transfers there.
