Tips for accommodation in Salzburg. How to choose the location of the hotel?
Conventionally, Salzburg can be divided into three areas — the railway station district, the New Town, and the Old Town.
The area near the railway station will suit those who plan not only to visit Salzburg, but also to travel to its surroundings. It is worth noting that hotels in the station district are cheaper than in the historic part of the city. Some attractions can be reached on foot — for example, it’s 15 minutes to Mirabell Park, and forty minutes to Hohensalzburg Fortress.
New Town is a perfect fit for those who are interested in Salzburg’s historic architecture. From here, you get an extraordinary view of the Old Town. There are also plenty of cafés and pastry shops in this area.
In the Old Town you will find many hotels, and it is exactly here that all the main attractions of Salzburg are concentrated. The famous composer Mozart used to stroll along the streets of this part of the city; a special atmosphere prevails here, and everything is comfortable and close by. The Old Town has many restaurants and cafés. The downside of staying here is the lack of an elevator in old buildings and thick walls that don’t always let the Wi Fi signal through very well. Still, hotels located in the Old Town are in high demand, and booking them needs to be done in advance.

Salzburg guide
Salzburg is located in western Austria, on the banks of the Salzach River, and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Salzburg is famous worldwide, first of all, for its Baroque architecture, and for the fact that the composer Mozart was born in this city.
Here, as you can imagine, there are many attractions that you simply must visit. One of them is Hohensalzburg Fortress. It is one of the largest fortresses of the medieval era, located on the top of Mount Festung, at an altitude of one hundred and twenty meters.
Within the city of Salzburg there is one of the most beautiful palace-park complexes in Austria, created in the 17th century, located at the foot of Mount Hellbrunn.
And yet, the main attraction in Salzburg, for which many tourists come, is the house where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the famous composer, was born. Today, this house is a memorial museum, and valuable exhibits are preserved here. For example, you will be able to see the musical instruments played by Mozart, namely the violin and the harpsichord. The composer’s music notebooks are also presented in the house-museum.
Another important attraction is Mirabell Palace. It was built in 1606, and today it serves as the residence of the city’s mayor, as well as a venue for various concerts and events.
