The western coast of Kefalonia will delight extreme tourists with Mitros Beach. This is a wild area, without the possibility of renting umbrellas and sunbeds. The coastline is quite extensive, but some parts of it are unsafe after the earthquake that happened here in 2015. The surface of the beach is quite smooth, consisting of small pebbles and white sand. However, the underwater relief is not so pleasant - it is strewn with rather large stone fragments.

Guests of the island are invited to start exploring local attractions from the center of the capital - the city of Argostoli. This settlement was completely restored after a large-scale earthquake in 1953. The list of the most visited cultural sites includes the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum, as well as the ancient library of Koryalenios. Pilgrims are invited to look into the cave of Katavothres, where the patron saint of the Greek island Gerasimos once lived as a hermit.
The second largest city of Lixouri is famous for the castle of Iacobates erected here, where several libraries are located. Near this settlement, you can admire the ancient ruins of ancient Pali.

1. City bus
Buses from Kefalonia Airport run only to Argostoli and the village of Lassi. To get to other places on the island by public transport, you will need to change at the Argostoli bus station. The schedule may vary depending on the season and the day of the week. For example, in October there were no buses at all on weekends.
Transportation from the airport is carried out by Kefalonian Buses (KTEL for short). You can find and study the bus schedule on the KTEL website (in the Routes section you need to find the Local lines). The fare is 2 euros, tickets can be purchased from the bus driver. The bus stop is located right outside the airport.
2. Pre-booked transfer
