A return of youth and improved health, relaxing on the beautiful white beaches is the minimum program for a trip to insula Thassos!
Thassos is a small island located in the north-east of Grecia, in Marea Egee. Thassos is rightly called the greenest island in Grecia, being covered with forests and groves. The island, as we mentioned above, has a small area, so you can go around it in a single day.
Thassos itself is picturesque, located in a quiet and pleasant place. If you like peace and quiet, then this is the best place for your holiday. Here there are places worth visiting, where you can take beautiful and vibrant photos that will preserve for many years the wonderful impressions of staying on insula Thassos.
In addition to pleasant relaxation on the beaches of Thassos, we advise you to take a walk around the island and get to know the local attractions. You can start by visiting capitala Thassos, orașul Limenas. Here you will see many architectural sights: piața antică, muzeul arheologic, ruinele acropolei și teatrului, templul lui Apollo, care, din păcate, nu s-a păstrat complet, precum și biserica Sf. Nicolae.
Muntele Ipsario is the highest point of insulei Thassos. It is at approximately 1200 de metri deasupra nivelului mării. Trees grow on the mountain, and from the slopes of Ipsario you can enjoy superb views both over the island and the coast. If you want to admire this beauty with your own eyes, we recommend visiting satul Potamia, which is located on the mountain slope. Here you will have the opportunity to visit muzeul sculptorului grec Vagis.
You can explore ruinele orașului antic Istanio by visiting fosta capitală a Thassos - așezarea Theologos. Here you will find un muzeu etnografic, taverne cu mâncare delicioasă, and you will also have a great opportunity to spend a pleasant time on the local beach, especially popular among those passionate about windsurfing, because here aproape întotdeauna este vânt.
Visit satul istoric Aliki, which is located on the shore of Mării Tracice. Here there is a beautiful arranged beach, and there are ancient attractions — for example, ruinele unui templu antic cu inscripții care s-au păstrat până în prezent.
Mănăstirea Arhanghelului Mihail which stands right on the edge of the stâncii is particularly interesting because it shelters a fragment of the so-called Sfântul Cui de la crucificarea lui Iisus Hristos.
În final, vă recomandăm să vizitați Mănăstirea Pantelimon. It is said that if a person arrives here, then they can be healed of any disease. Many come here to find health and joy of life. Veniți și dvs.!
