What is Plitvice Lakes? Surely, you have heard or read about them more than once, and after all, these are not just reservoirs that we are used to in our settlements, but a real national park. And, by the way, Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the entire territory of Croatia.
Plitvice Lakes are located at a distance of about a hundred kilometers from Zagreb. The main territory of the park is covered with forests, which are inhabited by deer, wild boars, as well as wolves and bears, some rare breeds of birds. As for the lakes, they, in fact, occupy only one percent of the entire territory of the national park.

Several hiking trails were equipped on the territory of the national park - they are presented in the form of wooden paths, which are convenient to walk along. You can also travel around the Plitvice Lakes by ferries and boats, and even trains.
Experienced tourists recommend coming to Plitvice Lakes for at least two days in order to have time to walk around the park and explore its most remote and interesting places. During this time, you can stay at any hotel - there are plenty of them in the park.
It is believed that the best time to visit the Plitvice Lakes is from June to August, although in spring and autumn there are fewer visitors and you can walk more freely.
The national park is open all year round, but depending on the season, the schedule may change. Usually the entrances open from seven in the morning and close at seven or eight in the evening. And do not forget to take your camera with you - believe me, you have never had such shots!
