Advantages and features of a beach holiday in Salou
In Salou, a Mediterranean climate prevails, familiar to these places on the map. The swimming season starts in May and lasts until October. It does rain here too, but relatively rarely.
Speaking of Salou’s beaches, we can say with confidence that they are among the cleanest and most comfortable beaches with golden sand, awarded the renowned Blue Flag. In general, the resort itself, located on the coast of the Balearic Sea, can be called one big beach. And yet, there are several beaches here, the most famous of which are presented below:
Platja Llarga is a beach of incredible beauty, surrounded by vegetation and pines, equipped with everything necessary for a quality and pleasant stay: you can rent diving equipment, and there are bars and playgrounds along the shore.
Llevant Beach is the beach that is probably even more popular. There is everything here—from playgrounds to equipment for underwater rides—although, honestly, the latter is not really practiced, because there is nothing interesting in the local waters.
Capellans Beach is an ideal beach for those who like to relax in seclusion. On both sides of the beach there are picturesque rocks.
If you go to Salou with children, we recommend considering Ponent Beach—here the entry into the sea is absolutely safe.

Travel Guide to Salou
Relax on the cleanest beaches and visit Port Aventura. What else would a tourist need in Salou?
Salou is located in Spain’s Tarragona province. Of course, we can’t say it’s an ideal place for those who love to explore and take photos with landmarks in the background, but, after all, tourists come here for something else. This resort is most popular with those who want gentle sunshine, clean beaches, sports grounds, etc.
Summer in Salou is warm; in winter the daytime highs are a bit lower, but it’s still mild. After the swimming season ends (around mid-autumn), Salou gets rainfall. If you don’t tolerate scorching heat, we recommend coming here in September.
Although Salou doesn’t offer a large number of attractions, as we said earlier, there are activities and places to see so you can return home with a suitcase full of pleasant impressions.
Port Aventura is a place known to everyone who has been to Spain, although not everyone gets the chance to visit this famous theme park. Exploring the park and getting to know all the attractions on its grounds will take more than one day. There aren’t only rides, as it might seem at first glance. On the grounds of Port Aventura there are restaurants, hotels, shops, souvenir stalls, as well as many other facilities and appealing venues. By the way, many tourists go to Salou just to visit Port Aventura, and that’s true.
Salou also stands out for a fascinating promenade that offers unforgettable impressions. This is King Jaume I Boulevard. It is the city’s main street that stretches along the coast.
Another attraction of Salou is its fountains. They are everywhere, wherever you go, and each one is different: they sing, dance, and light up. We recommend admiring them and taking some photos as a keepsake. While walking around the city, you might come across a little tourist train that can take you on a tour of the town.
In Salou there is an ancient tower, Torre Vella, which was built in 1530. Its main task was to protect the city’s residents from pirate attacks. Today, exhibitions are held in the tower, and inside it there is the Enamel Museum.
In Salou there is also a children’s park called Bosc Aventura. The city is waiting for you!
