KATARINO HOTEL & SPA is an atmospheric mountain spa hotel at the foot of the Rila Mountains, surrounded by forest, fresh air, and panoramic views of Pirin and Rila. The hotel is located about 5 km from Razlog and around 8 km from Bansko, which makes it a popular choice for guests who want to combine spa, mountain walks, gastronomy, and winter sports. The hotel offers several accommodation categories. Double LUXE Room — around 30 m², for 2+1 guests, with a mountain view, without a balcony. Junior Suite — 40 m², for 2+2 / 3+1 guests, with a mountain view, bedroom and living area. The complex places a strong emphasis on natural products from its own production. The main restaurant serves breakfast and dinner buffet-style, while lunch is available a la carte with dishes from the Mediterranean cuisine and products from the hotel’s own farms. The main restaurant usually operates from around 07:00/07:30 to 23:00, with breakfast served from 07:00/07:30 to 10:00. At Mehanata, the listed opening hours are also 07:30–23:00, with breakfast from 07:30–10:00; the restaurant focuses on traditional Bulgarian cuisine, meat delicacies, matured cheeses, grilled dishes, and bread from its own bakery. There is a children’s menu for kids and a separate baby & toddler menu for the youngest guests; for guests staying on half board, meals for babies are indicated as complimentary. The hotel does not have its own beach, as it is a mountain spa hotel located in the Katarino area between Razlog and Bansko, not on the seaside. Instead of beach facilities, the main focus here is on mineral pools, the thermal zone, mountain walks, and the seasonal pool bar. Mehanata serves traditional local food, Bulgarian wines, and has a cozy interior with wood, stone, and a fireplace. The Lobby Bar offers morning coffee, tea, and homemade pastries; opening hours are approximately 07:30–00:00. The Vitamin Bar serves freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, fruit and herbal teas, and healthy snacks; it is usually open around 09:00–20:30. The Pool Bar in the summer season offers refreshing drinks, juices, smoothies, and ice cream; it is typically open from 15 May to 15 September, approximately 09:00–20:30. Guests can use the indoor pool with a jacuzzi cave, an outdoor adults’ pool, and an outdoor children’s pool with mineral water at around 34°C. The thermal zone includes a salt room, Finnish and Kiva sauna, infrared sauna, laconicum, tepidarium, ice fountain, panoramic steam bath, adventure shower, and relaxation area. For an additional charge, guests can enjoy massages, spa rituals, facial treatments, flotation bath, cryotherapy, hydrotherapy, and other procedures. Sports and leisure facilities include a fitness room with TechnoGym equipment, tennis court, table tennis, a 4-lane bowling alley, billiards, electronic games, as well as outdoor activities on request such as ATV rides, rafting, kayaking, horse riding, cycling tours, paintball, fishing, and golf. The hotel offers a wide range of facilities for children: a kids club for ages 3–14, year-round animation, and in the summer months a special daytime program with games and activities. There are two indoor playrooms with slides, climbing wall, labyrinth, ball pit, puppet theatre, arts-and-crafts zones, and board games, as well as an outdoor playground and an outdoor children’s pool with warm mineral water in summer. For babies and toddlers, the hotel provides a baby cot, potty, toilet seat, night light, baby bathtub, changing table, children’s bathrobes and slippers, car seats, and bike seats. The restaurant also offers a children’s menu, high chairs, and dedicated meals for little ones. Yes, in winter the hotel is especially convenient for guests planning a holiday in the Bansko area. The hotel organizes free regular shuttle transfers to the Bansko gondola station and back — according to the schedule, approximately every hour from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00. Guests can purchase ski passes at reception, and the hotel also has its own ski room, as well as rental, storage, drying, and service facilities for ski and snowboard equipment. Among the nearest interesting places, guests usually consider the Katarino area and the Church of Saint Catherine, which is located in this area and is regarded as a cultural landmark of the region. For a short trip, Razlog and its Historical Museum, located in the Parapunov House near the town center, are also worth visiting. For active leisure, guests may also be interested in Pirin Golf & Country Club in the Razlog Valley.
