Rhodes

Rhodes is considered the island of the lovely nymph Rhodes - the beloved of Helios (the god of the Sun), therefore it is often called the Beautiful Virgin of the Dodecanese. This island is suitable for absolutely every type of tourist.

There are two seas on Rhodes: the western coast is washed by the Aegean Sea, and the eastern coast by the Mediterranean. The Aegean Sea is rough and therefore suitable for surfers, and the Mediterranean Sea is calm and quiet, suitable for family vacation lovers.

The capital of the same name Rhodes is divided into two worlds: the world of modernity and the world of the Middle Ages. The new city in Rhodes, that is, the world of modernity, is distinguished by a well-thought-out layout of all streets, a large number of parks, and beautiful squares. The port from which the New City begins is filled with modern and expensive yachts. The main entertainments of the New City come at night, almost anywhere in the city you can find night bars, discos, authentic Greek-style taverns, casinos. And during the day - markets and numerous shops are waiting for their visitors at any time of the year.

If we talk about the world of the Middle Ages, the Old Town in Rhodes, then this is the complete opposite of the above. The old city is an "open air museum": every street, square or building is associated with some story about ancient times. It is a vibrant city of about 6,000 people who live and work in the same houses where the Knights of St. John. It is a living monument of history, perhaps the only one of its kind in the world.
